We offer professional cleaning services of all hard floor types. Listed below are the types of floors we clean:
Linoleum and Vinyl floors
At Fibre-Clean of Croydon we can clean and polish this type of flooring to a very high standard. Fibre-clean scrub off all soils and dead treatments i.e. old polish etc. Fibre-clean then thoroughly rinse and high power wash the floor with a special attachment, fitted to our high power truck mount system. Once this has been done we neutralise the floor, so no cleaning solution residue is left behind. Fibre-clean then apply a coat of sealer or polish and buff it to harden the sealer. Fibre-clean apply a second coat of sealer and polish to a very high shine finish or, if you would prefer, we can provide a matt finish. Fibre-clean can provide any finish of the client’s choice.
Wooden floors
Wooden floors are cleaned in the same way as above but the finishes are slightly different depending on the type of wood being used and the design of the floor, we can provide the following finishes:
- Wax Finish
- Natural Finish
- Matt Finish
- Gloss Finish
- Satin Finish
Fibre-clean can also lay and seal brand new wooden floors with our expert carpenter, who has numerous years experience in laying all types of wooden floors. Terracotta
The downside to terracotta is it has no sealer or glaze applied on the surface when manufactured and it is porous, which can pick up soils and spills and store them within the terracotta tile. The answer of course, is to use a highly effective cleaner that will remove old wax sealers, grime, grease and general soil build up. The cleaning solutions Fibre-Clean use are highly effective and won’t damage your floor. We then apply sealer, due to terracotta being porous we recommend anything from 8 to 12 coats depending on the terracotta being sealed and the amount of traffic the floor will get.
Sandstone
First we remove all sealers and old waxes, so we can get to the sandstone itself. We then apply a tile and grout cleaner, to effectively clean the tiles again, this is highly effective at removing all the waxes, sealers and general build up of soil. We then use our highly effective truck mounted cleaning system to rinse all residue cleaning solutions away and neutralise the floor. We leave the floor overnight to dry and we apply a sealer to the sandstone, normally 3 to 4 coats. We water test the floor to see if the sandstone will absorb the water, known as the water seal test, to achieve full seal ability.
Limestone
First we remove all sealers and old waxes, so we can get to the limestone itself. We then apply a tile and grout cleaner, to effectively clean the tiles again, this is highly effective at removing all the waxes, sealers and general build up of soil. We then use our highly effective truck mounted cleaning system to rinse all residue cleaning solutions away and neutralise the floor. We leave the floor to dry and we apply a sealer to the limestone, normally 3 to 4 coats. We water test the floor to see if the limestone will absorb the water, known as the water seal test, to achieve full seal ability.
Slate
First we remove all sealers and old waxes, so we can get to the slate itself. We then apply a tile and grout cleaner, to effectively clean the tiles again, this is highly effective at removing all the waxes, sealers and general build up of soil. We then use our highly effective truck mounted cleaning system to rinse all residue cleaning solutions away and neutralise the floor. Travertine
Travertine tile is a natural material that has features that no other stone can offer. Travertine creates some of the most distinguished floor tiles and is very durable for commercial and domestic use. It can be used as floor tiles, wall tiles and can often be used outside too. This is cleaned in the following way.
First we remove all sealers and old waxes, so we can get to the travertine itself. We then apply a tile and grout cleaner, to effectively clean the tiles again, this is highly effective at removing all the waxes, sealers and general build up of soil. We then use our highly effective truck mounted cleaning system to rinse all residue cleaning solutions away and neutralise the floor. We leave the floor to dry and we apply a sealer to the travertine, normally 3 to 4 coats. We water test the floor to see if the travertine will absorb the water, known as the water seal test, to achieve full seal ability.
Grout cleaning
Grouts are porous so they can easily absorb limescale, grease, grime, spills and everything else that comes into contact with it.
Grout between wall tiles, especially in damp areas, can look unsightly due to mould. It normally starts in the wettest of areas, i.e. round the tops of baths and sinks and if left unchecked can spread to the complete tiled area. Discolouration of grout lines around the top of the bath, for example, can also be due to the use of soaps, shampoos, bleach and cleaning products. The process of cleaning is slightly different as we use a mild acid to clean the grout, which penetrates the grout removing any stains and soils that might be present, when all the discolouration and marks, stains and soils have been removed we then protect the grout by sealing it with a grout sealer This will stop water penetrating and getting behind the tiles and protect your investment for years to come, keeping it looking in pristine condition.
